How can I install the plugin?
Quit Aperture if it's open. Download Impression
here and run the installer.
Details: If you've used Safari to download the file, the installer might start automatically when the download is finished. If not, you'll probably find the file in the Downloads folder in your home folder. Double-click the file to unzip it and then double-click it again to start the installer. If the installation is succesful, the installer will tell you so at the end.
Where can I find the installed plugin?
Open Aperture and select Image > Edit With > Impression from the menubar.
Details: If for some reason you'd like to remove the plugin, you can delete it from this location:
/Library/Application Support/Aperture/Plug-Ins/Edit/
How does it work?
Click the Select button. This will open a file browser. Select a watermark file and click Open. You should now see the watermark on your photo. Use the Rotation, Margin, Location and Alpha buttons to adjust the appearance of the watermark.
Details: If you don't see the watermark on your photo, that might be because it is extremely small. Increase the size of the font or the image in the watermark file to make it bigger. If the watermark is too large to fit your photo, it will automatically be resized.
If you don't have a watermark file yet, you'll have to create one first.
Details: There are two ways to create a watermark file.
1. From a text-file. You can easily create a watermark from a text-file. In your /Applications folder you'll find TextEdit, the Mac's standard text-editor. Create a new document and type the text that you want to use for your watermark. Make sure to use a very large font (e.g. 100 - 200 pt). (Command-T opens the Font panel in TextEdit) You can also change the color. If you want to use white text, then feel free to set the background color to black to make it easy to read. Impression ignores the background color, so this will not affect your watermark. To save the document, select File > Save As from the menu and set the file format to Rich Text Format (RTF). You can now select this document from Impression.
2. From an image-file. If you want your watermark to contain a drawing or company logo, you'll need to create it with an image editor like Photoshop or Acorn. The image file should be saved as PNG or PSD. You can use an alpha channel for transparency if you like.
If you prefer to export your photos instead of importing them into Aperture, just hold down the Option key. The Save button will change into an Export button.
How can I register the plugin?
Click the Unregistered label beneath the photo. Enter your name, email address and registration key in the sheet that appears and click Register. Once you've entered a valid registration key, you'll be able to process multiple photos in one session, which will save you a lot of time.
Details: Your name, email address and registration key have to be the same as in the email that you've received. If your registration key is accepted, the "Unregistered" label in the lower left corner of the plugin window will change to "License". You can click on it to see your registration info.
