How can I use Impression with iPhoto or Aperture?
You can use Impression from within iPhoto or Aperture through the use of a plug-in. These plug-ins are free and can be downloaded here.
How can I install the plug-ins?
Quit iPhoto/Aperture if it’s open. Unzip the downloaded installer and run it. You'll get the option to install for iPhoto, Aperture or both.
I've run the plug-in installer. How can I work with Impression now?
For iPhoto: Open iPhoto, select a photo and then select File > Export in the menu bar. You’ll see the Impression Exporter at the top of this window. When you click the Export button, the selected photo(s) will be sent to Impression, which will automatically start.
For Aperture: Open Aperture, select a photo and then select File > Export > Impression in the menu bar. When you click the Export button, the selected photo(s) will be sent to Impression, which will automatically start. You can select the file format at the bottom of this window. You can also select the file size and format in Impression, but it will be slightly faster to select the correct format in Aperture itself.
How can I uninstall the old plug-ins?
First, quit iPhoto/Aperture if it’s open. Then click on a Finder window or on the Desktop and select Go > Go to Folder... in the menu bar (or press Cmd-Shift-G). Enter this path:
For Aperture: /Library/Application Support/Aperture/Plug-Ins/Edit/
For iPhoto: /Library/Application Support/iPhoto/Plugins/
You can delete the plug-ins from that location.
